The HEINE Standard 3,5V F.O. L LED rechargeable laryngoscope handle with LED illumination delivered complete with handle shell and battery insert including a rechargeable Li-ion L battery and F.O. L bottom cap. The handle has a low battery warning function and is compatible with all blades to the ISO 7376 (green standard). Early warning function: When the battery (dry batteries or rechargeable) is partially discharged, the brightness reduces automatically to 33 %. It is still bright enough to intubate (like a 3,5V handle with halogen bulb) but reminds you to recharge the handle soon. The charge status display in the bottom cap of the F.O. L laryngoscope handle display lights for 10 seconds when the handle is switched on or removed from the charger. The HEINE Standard 3,5V F.O. L LED rechargeable laryngoscope handle is 3 times as bright as conventional 3.5V halogen bulbs and has a working life of 50,000 hours. Usage time with rechargeable Li-ion battery: 5 hours of full brightness + 30 minutes with reduced brightness (Usage time with rechargeable NiMh-battery: 2 hours of full brightness + 30 minutes with reduced brightness) (Usage time with dry cells (2x C/LR6): 2 hours of full brightness + 5 hours with reduced brightness.) All existing HEINE Standard F.O. rechargeable laryngoscope handles (with XHL-bulb insert/outer shell) are possible to upgrade to LED-version by ordering a new LED-insert (F-008.22.890). The white LED light is close to daylight and provides homogenous light with a reference colour temperature of 6,500 Kelvin over the whole examination site with constant electronic control of brightness. The handle shell can be sterilized or autoclaved while the battery insert is used with another handle shell. The handle shell is also compatible with Sterrad and other low-temperature gas plasma sterilization procedures.
